How to trigger ads?
You need to set up the ad-stitching method you will use to trigger ads in the Shoutcast Radio Manager under the "Monetize" section.
More info about ad-stitching methods here.
1-Ad-Injection:
(We insert ads directly on your stream by pausing it and deliver only ads available for each listener)
- Set up Ad-Stitching in Radio Manager
- Choose maximum duration of your ad-breaks (we will deliver only available ads for each listener and won't exceed the duration you've set up)
- Schedule a 20 milliseconds MP3 files of with the tag "Advert:" in the artist and title section
- The advertising server is case sensitive, so make sure to use Capital “A“ and the colon.
2- Ad-Replacement:
(Replace an element of your stream by an ad-break of the duration of your choice)
Fix Duration Break:
- Set up the duration of your ad-breaks in the Radio Manager (up to 3 minutes)
- The metadata to activate the ads is "Advert:" in both Artist AND Title fields.
- Schedule MP3 files with the tag "Advert:" in the artist and title section, choose files of the duration you've set up.
- The advertising server is case sensitive, so make sure to use Capital “A“ and the colon.
- The audio MP3 file will be heard by listeners that don’t have ads running.
- You should put audio in the file (or files) that you would want people to hear if they’re not hearing the Shoutcast triggered ad at that time.
- You can trigger as many ad-breaks you want.
Also Advert: can be replaced by Advert! when the colon is not supported.
Flexible Duration Break:
- Set up Flexbreak in Radio Manager
- Schedule MP3 files with the tag structure "Advert!XXX:" (XXX = duration in seconds) in the artist and title section, choose files of the duration you've indicated into the tag. For instance you'd like to place a 2 min ad-break at 2pm: insert tag Advert!120: in metadata of a 2min audio file. If you want to fire a longer break at 6pm (3min), insert tag Advert!180: in metadata of a 3min audio file.
- The tag needs to be activated in both Artist AND Title fields of your files.
- You can trigger as many ad-breaks you want of any duration.
